Michelle Yamamoto is a Hood River, Oregon-based painter, muralist, and art educator whose work celebrates the depth of the human spirit through intimate portraiture and imaginative storytelling. Originally trained in graphic design, Yamamoto found her way to painting after living abroad in Asia — a journey that shaped both her perspective and her practice. Her oil and acrylic works draw on the rich textures of people, place, and community, weaving together realism and expressive feeling in equal measure.
Yamamoto's work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections across the Pacific Northwest, including the Portland Art Museum. Her large-scale public murals throughout Hood River County further speak to her commitment to art as a communal act, one that honors history, culture, and the lives of everyday people.
Who's That Girl, Luckygirl Gallery's inaugural exhibition, features three new works by Yamamoto — Who's That Girl, Flower Power, and Budding Street Artist — each a meditation on identity, femininity, and the quiet power of self-expression.
