Jennifer Gillia Cutshall is a Portland, Oregon-based painter, sculptor, muralist, and curator whose work navigates the threshold between memory and dream. Working in acrylic, pen and ink, and mixed media, Cutshall's practice is rooted in the subconscious, each piece a layered excavation of memory, feeling, and the imagery that surfaces when the waking mind loosens its grip. She weaves fragments of life into paintings and sculptures that feel at once intimate and mythic.
A prolific force in the Portland arts community, Cutshall has curated over 60 group exhibitions and created more than 300 murals and public art works over the course of her career. Her work is held in collections worldwide. She built and ran one of Portland's most recognized independent galleries for over a decade alongside her own art practice, Verum Ultimum Art Gallery in Portland, where she has championed emerging and established artists alike.
Carpe Diem Little Bird, her contribution to Who's That Girl — Luckygirl Gallery's inaugural exhibition — carries all the hallmarks of her practice: a quiet urgency, a dreamlike tenderness, and an invitation to look closely at what it means to be alive right now.
